The Philodendron Imperial Red is a relatively. new hybrid. They grow tight to the center (with a single base) with a more upright and neater rather than spreading growth habit. Imperial Red is a decorative foliage plant with large leathery leaves. When the leaves come out they are bright red but they’ll darken as they mature, turning deep purple, and finally a dark glossy green A lush, decorative foliage plant with large, oval, leathery leaves. Young leaves are a bright red, maturing to burgundy red-purple and ultimately dark glossy green. Philodendron Imperial Red has a compact, bushy habit.
A great low maintenance option and shade tolerant into the bargain. Ideal for adding interest and air-purifying benefits to the home or office.

How to care
Light: Best in moderate to bright, indirect light but can tolerate shady spots too. Avoid direct sunlight.
Water: Keep the soil moist at all times. Allow the top of the soil to dry out slightly before re-watering. Will tolerate some degree of drought better than having its roots too wet.
Temperature: Average to warm household temperatures from 18-28°C and short periods down to 12°C at an absolute push. Avoid cold draughts.
Feed: Apply a weak solution of liquid fertiliser two or three times during the growing season.
Care tips: Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust.
Air Purifying: Philodendron filters airborne toxins such as formaldehyde, benzene and trichloroethylene from the atmosphere and they are part of our clean air plant collection.
Height and Growth Rate: Ultimate height 90-120cm indoors. Moderate to fast growth rate.
