Known as the asparagus fern. This species originates from South Africa and is very popular with the florist industry as it is often used in cut flower displays. The fern with its frond like branches makes a great house plant and is easy to grow indoors.

How to care
Light: Asparagus like bright, indirect sunlight. Direct sunlight may scorch the needles, whereas insufficient light may turn them yellow and cause them to drop.
Water: Keep well-watered, but do not allow to stand in water. Less water is required during the winter but doesn’t let the soil dry out completely. Best to do the finger test.
Temperature: Normal warm household temperatures. Needs a minimum of 13°C in winter.
Humidity: Mist to improve humidity when grown indoors.
Care Tips: Due to their vigorous growth habit, Asparagus setaceus may become pot bound. If required, re-pot and trim during springtime to maintain desired size and shape. Thorns can be sharp so take care when handling.
